4 Bathroom Tile Trends We Love

There’s a reason that tile is such a popular choice for bathroom floors, walls, and shower stalls – it’s attractive, durable, and works really well in a wet environment. If you’re remodeling your bathroom, or if you’re just tired of your old flooring or walls, you might want to check out some of our favorite really fun and trendy tile treatments.
A More Organized Approach to Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic tiles can be a lot of fun, and they can be a great way to add color and dimension to the walls and/or floor of your bathroom. They’re also a great option for a backsplash for your vanity counter, as well. Instead of a random scattering of colors or shades in a single palette, though, why not create a repeating pattern for your mosaic tiles? You could do any number of things with this, such as squares, diamonds, triangles, or you could get really creative with a design of your own.
Get a Graceful Look With Large Format Tiles
On the other end of the spectrum from mosaic tiles, we also love large format tiles. These are usually at least 18” x 18”, and they work really well on both the floor and walls. In fact, you might be able to create a cohesive and luxurious effect by tiling the entire bathroom in the same large format tiles. If you do this, we recommend going with a color or shade that complements your bathtub, and you can either go with complementary shower tile, or you can tile the shower with the same tiles as the floor and walls.
Add Dimension With an Accent Strip
If you’re not in love with an all-over pattern like we recommended with mosaic tiles, but you do want something to bring the room to life and stand out against your large format tile, you can opt for a thin strip of accent tile that wraps around the perimeter of the bathroom. You can put it at eye level, waist level, or you can put it up near the ceiling, as well, depending on your preference and the style of your bathroom.
The best thing about an accent strip is that you have a ton of options. You could go with subway tile, mosaic tiles, or anything that creates a fun splash of color and style along an otherwise muted wall.
Make the Floor Your Focus
Want to really add some style to your bathroom? Go with more subdued walls and décor, and then choose a really cool tile design for the floor that really stands out. This is a great way to make a master bathroom look and feel larger and more spacious, and it has a modern feel that you’ll love walking into every morning and evening.
